Ponseljobs Indonesia and wagely Join Forces to Enhance Workers’ Welfare through Earned Wage Access

For almost 15 years, Ponseljobs Indonesia (JO) has led in outsourcing services, enhancing clients' efficiency and productivity. Through creating a highly skilled workforce and offering attractive compensation, the company ensures businesses access exceptional talent. Additionally, its earned wage access program revolutionizes traditional kasbon, providing valuable financial support to employees facing unexpected expenses before payday.

Director at Ponseljobs Indonesia, Herwanto explained that financial stress can be a significant distraction for employees that leads to low productivity. Furthermore, the kasbon system created administrative burdens and cash flow issues, especially for companies with a large number of employees. Recognizing these limitations, Ponseljobs Indonesia took a proactive step and partnered with wagely since 2021 to provide employees with a more innovative program.

When I visited West Java five years ago, I noticed a growing number of employees requesting kasbon. It made me wonder if there was a technology-based solution to simplify the process. Years later, we came across wagely, and what appealed to me the most was their unique concept - it's neither kasbon nor online loans. It’s called earned wage access. It provides employees with access to their earned salary for the days they have worked via a mobile app.

He further explained how the wagely app works. Each day an employee works, they build up an “Accessible Income” balance in their wagely account. This balance represents a portion of salaries that they have already earned so far in the pay period. When they have emergency needs, they can make a withdrawal. The process is simple and convenient, taking only minutes to have the salary transferred to their registered bank account. When payday arrives, the amount of withdrawn salary is automatically deducted from their regular paycheck.

One advantage of wagely over traditional kasbon is the immediate access employees have to their earned salary. With wagely, employees can quickly obtain financial support, especially during emergencies or unexpected expenses. In contrast, obtaining a cash advance through traditional kasbon can be a time-consuming process, requiring employees to visit HR, communicate, submit a request, and await approval.

wagely also has a positive impact on employee attraction and retention, which is crucial in our industry. Previously, we encountered two main challenges: meeting clients' monthly labor demands and retaining employees across Java, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi. Therefore, partnering with wagely has a multiplying effect. It benefits both the employees and the company as a whole.

Herwanto holds a different perspective compared to the common view. Typically, many companies believe they don't have to address the financial difficulties faced by employees as it's not their responsibility. However, Herwanto understands that employees' financial problems can directly affect their productivity and performance, particularly in the outsourcing industry where employees play a crucial role in the business's success.

We all know that money problems can be incredibly stressful. When employees are burdened with financial worries, they may experience distractions, decreased motivation, and reduced job satisfaction. In the outsourcing industry, where employees are the backbone of our business, it is crucial for us to prioritize and take care of our employees' financial wellness.
